Siena stormed into the new season and continued their dominance in Italian basketball. The reigning league champions and Cup holders once again beat Virtus Bologna (Cup runner-up), this time by 82-64 to claim their fourth consecutive Super Cup trophy. At halftime Siena was already winning 48 to 36.Newly acquired American-Macedonian guard Bo McCalebb was named MVP of the game after leading the winners with 16 points and 4 steals, followed by Rimantas Kaukėnas with 11 points, Pietro Aradori and David Moss with 10 apiece and Milovan Raković with less one. For Virtus Bologna, Giuseppe Poeta was the topscorer with 17 points, while Marcelus Kemp added 11, Valerio Amoroso 9 and Petteri Koponen 8.
