News: Cavaliers closer to Kaun

Utah Jazz's Andrei Kirilenko could soon be joined by fellow countryman Sasha Kaun in the NBA. The Russian centre, currently playing for CSKA Moscow, was again praised by the Cleveland Cavaliers general manager Chris Grant, for whom the 25-year-old is one of the best big men in Europe. And there are already numbers in the mix. The team will only pay around 280 thousand Euros of Kaun's buyout, while the player will have to add the remaining ammount from his own pocket. That would mean the Cavs would have to offer Kaun an considerably high guaranteed deal.
Drafted by the defunct Seattle Supersonics in 2008, the rights of the former University of Kansas' player were then transferred to the Cavaliers, which waited for him to develop professionally in Europe before deciding to make a move. News: LeBron back-to-back NBA MVP (Notícia: LeBron de novo MVP da NBA)

Just like 2009 did, 2010 brings the same name for the NBA MVP: LeBron James. The Cleveland Cavaliers' forward dominance in the league was once again rewarded by sports writers and commentators and he'll become the 10th player in the history of the league to get consecutive MVP titles. Oklahoma City Thunder's Kevin Durrant and Los Angeles Lakers' Kobe Bryant were second and third in the list, respectively.
James led once again the Cavs in scoring at 29.7 points per game (again the second best in the league, behind Durrant), was third in the team in rebounds (7.3 per game) and led in assists at 8.6 per game. He added averages of 1.6 steals and one block.
The Cavs finished the regular season as the best team with 61 wins and 21 losses and are now playing the second round of the playoffs against the Boston Celtics, having won the first game of the series.

The 2.20m Ilgauskas is a former two-time All-Star (2003 and 2005) and leads the Cavs all-time list for rebounds and blocked shots. Over his career in the NBA he averaged 14.3 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and 1.2 assists in 707 games.
