For the second consecutive year Mahram lifted the trophy as winner of the Asia Champions Cup. In the final held yesterday in Doha (Qatar), the Tehran team crushed hosts Al Rayyan 73 to 93, making this the fourth consecutive year in which an Iranian team becomes champion. The Qataris were only able to withstand Mahram in the first period, when they trailed by just two points (20-22), as by halftime they were already losing 33 to 46.
Samad Nikkhah led the reigning Iranian champions with 26 points and six rebounds in 25 minutes, followed by Jackson Vroman with 21, eight and five assists, Loren Woods with a double-double (15 points and 14 rebounds) and Aidin Kabir with 10 points. For Rayyan, the best on court was Yasseen Musa with 20 points and nine rebounds, while Erfan Ali Saeed (six boards and three steals) and Targuy Ngombo (eight rebounds) netted 15 points apiece and Cory Bradford added 12.
In the third place game, Lebanese side Al Riyadi beat ASU 78-82 in overtime.

Os catarenses conseguiram aguentar o Mahram apenas no primeiro período, quando perdiam por apenas dois pontos (20-22), uma vez que ao intervalo já perdiam por 33-46.
Samad Nikkhah comandou o actual campeão iraniano com 26 pontos e seis ressaltos em 25 minutos, seguido de Jackson Vroman com 21, oito e cinco assistências, Loren Woods com um duplo-duplo (15 pontos e 14 ressaltos) e Aidin Kabir com 10 pontos. Do lado do Rayyan, o melhor em campo foi Yasseen Musa com 20 pontos e nove ressaltos, enquanto que Erfan Ali Saeed (seis ressaltos e três roubos de bola) e Targuy Ngombo (oito ressaltos) encestaram 15 pontos cada e Cory Bradford acrescentou 12.

The Utah Flash from the NBA's D-League have been invited by the Iranian federation to play some friendly games in the country. Last year, before the Beijing Olympics, the Iran national team played preparation games in Salt Lake City, marking the first time a team from the country played in American territory. The opposite will also happen if the Flash accept the offer and travel to Iran.
