News: Villeurbanne adds Kangur (Notícia: Kangur reforça Villeurbanne)

Kristjan Kangur will exchange the club of his heart Kalev for French side Villeurbanne. The Estonian forward will move abroad for the second time in his career (had been in Germany with Leverkusen between 2004 and 2006) and will stay with the Pro A team for one season. The 26-year-old will, therefore, play next season in the Euroleague for the first time and try a more competitive national championship.
In the Baltic Basketball League this season the Estonia international averaged 10.2 points and a team-best 7.1 rebounds in 21 games and helped Kalev achieve the Estonian title.
Villeurbanne will be in group A of Euroleague next season along with Barcelona, Siena, Cibona, Fenerbahçe and Žalgiris.

In the final the green team defeated Orléans 55-41, claiming their 18th championship title. In a dismal and low scoring game, the win was secured right in the second period, as Villeurbanne outscored the runner-up 19 to 0 at some point, allowing only 4 points. Amara Sy led the champions with 10 points and 8 rebounds, followed the triunvirate Ali Traoré (8 boards), Nebojša Bogavac and Eric Campbell (5 rebounds) with 8 points each. Cedrick Banks was the best scorer for Orléans with 13 points, while Aldo Curti added 8.
