News: Radulović takes the helm of Cibona

Contrary to what had been presented as a fact, assistant Tomislav Mijatović will not be the new head coach of Cibona. Following the departure of Velimir Perasović, the Croatian giants decided to hand the helm of the team to a former known face, Zdravko Radulović. The 43-year-old Croat served in the team as a shooting guard in the 1990s and was also parte of Yugoslavia national team that conquered gold at Eurobasket 1989 and silver at the 1988 Olympics. Other candidates on the table for the post were Veljka Mršić and Slobodan Subotić.
Previously, Radulović coached KK Zagreb and Cedevita, from the Croatian A1 Liga.
Cibona is the reigning league champion after beating rivals Zadar 95-73 in game 5 of the playoff finals and lost the Adriatic League final to Partizan.

A sua estreia poderá acontecer já amanhã frente ao Crvena Zvezda, em encontro da Liga do Adriático.)

Former NBA player Dalibor Bagarić is set to return to the club that gave him the basics of basketball and projected him in the international stage. Croatian champion Cibona tied the 2.15m centre for the next season, bringing him home after he was forced to leave Fortitudo Bologna which collapsed due to financial problems.
The 29-year-old hopes to have more minutes on court and regain confidence and shape compared to last season when he was underused and afflicted by an injury early in the season.

Centre Nikola Prkačin was the hero in game four of the Croatian playoffs with a late tip-in to give Cibona a 69-71 victory over Zadar. Cibona claimed, therefore, its 15th championship yesterday after Lukša Andrić missed a lay-up with three seconds to go and Prkačin helped putting the ball inside, as the Zagreb team reconquered the title precisely lost to Zadar last year. In the finals, Cibona beat the former champions 3 to 1.
American Alan Anderson scored 24 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and stole 4 balls for the champions, while Davor Kus added 16 points and Andrić 10 and 7 rebounds. For Zadar Macedonian Todor Gečevski scored 13 points and added 7 boards, followed by Rok Stipčević and Vladimir Boisa with 11 points apiece and Hrvoje Perić with 10.
