News: Vujošević resigns as Montenegro head coach

Duško Vujošević presented his resignation from the Montenegro national team coaching position. In a letter to the Montenegrin basketball association, the CSKA Moscow head coach cited the need to rest after an exhausting season and said good-bye to the national side players "as a friend". The 51-year-old is confident that a good replacement will be found.
Vujošević had been at the helm of Montenegro since 2007, following the country's separation from Serbia. He led them to their first Eurobasket qualification success, as the country will take part in the tournament next year in Lithuania. Vujošević's achievements include nine Serbian league titles, four Adriatic Leagues, five Serbian cups and a Korać Cup all with Partizan. He was also named Euroleague coach of the year in 2009.

News: Parker all set for France next year

The undisputed leader of the French national team is ready to comeback to international tournaments. In a interview to a French TV channel San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker declared that barring injuries he'll be at next year's Eurobasket and he already warned his club about it. The 28-year-old recently failed to help Les Bleus at the World Championship, in which France finished 13th with three wins and three losses.
Also according to Parker, another two French NBA players, Joakim Noah (Chicago Bulls) and Ronny Turiaf (New York Knicks) are also determined to help France reach the top four places of the tournament to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics.
The last time Parker was with the national side was in Eurobasket 2009, where he guided France to a 5th place and was the competition's second top scorer with 17.8 points per game behind Spain's Pau Gasol.

News: Tanjević will keep coaching Turkey

The man behind Turkey's silver medal at the World Championship this year is coming back for yet another challenge. Bosnian Bogdan Tanjević, who recently battled against cancer, revealed if he's well his desire is to lead Turkey at Eurobasket next year in Lithuania and try to reach the top four places in order to qualify for the London Olympics.
The 63-year-old has the support of the Turkish federation and also added he counts on all players, especially Hedo Türkoğlu, whose long season in the NBA will determine if he's physically fit to join the national team.
In a coaching career which started in 1978 with Bosna Sarajevo, Tanjević led other national teams, namely Yugoslavia and Italy and is on the bench of Turkey since 2004. At club level he was recently at the helm of Fenerbahçe, conquering the Turkish title.

News: Cherniy appointed as Ukraine coach (Notícia: Cherniy contratado como seleccionador da Ucrânia)

Valentyn Melnychuk's successor at the helm of the Ukranian national team will be Vitaliy Cherniy. The BC Kyiv head coach is actually returning to the national side, after being an assistant to Vitaliy Lebedintsev three years ago. The 39-year-old was chosen because of the good campaign this season at the helm of Kyiv (the team stands fourth in the Superleague table with 16 wins and eight losses) and also because the backbone of the national team will composed by players of the club.
After almost being relegated to the B division last year, Ukraine looks now to qualify to next year's Eurobasket and the aim according to the federation president is as ambitious as making the semi-finals of the competition and qualifying for the 2012 Olympics. Ukraine will be in group B of the qualifying tournament alongside FYR of Macedonia, Hungary, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Great Britain.

(O sucessor de Valentyn Melnychuk no comando da selecção ucraniana será Vitaliy Cherniy. O treinador do BC Kyiv vai estar, na realidade, de regresso à selecção, visto ter sido adjunto de Vitaliy Lebedintsev há três anos. O técnico de 39 anos foi escolhido pela boa campanha ao serviço do Kyiv (a equipa ocupa o quarto lugar da tabela da Superliga com 16 vitórias e oito derrotas) e devido ao facto de a espinha dorsal da selecção vir a ser constituída por jogadores do clube.
Depois de quase ter sido despromovida à divisão B no ano passado, a Ucrânia procura a qualificação para o Eurobasket do próximo ano e o ambicioso objectivo, de acordo com o presidente da federação, é o de chegar às meias-finais da competição e obter a qualificação para os Jogos Olímpicos de 2012. A Ucrânia estará enquadrada no grupo B do torneio de qualificação, juntamente com Hungria, ARJ da Macedónia, Bósnia-Herzegovina e Grã-Bretanha.)

News: Griszczuk new Poland coach (Notícia: Griszczuk novo seleccionador polaco)

The Polish federation finally found a coach for the national team to replace Muli Katzurin. Belarussian/Polish Igor Griszczuk will take the helm of Poland for Eurobasket 2011 qualifiers this year, after the refusal of Dražen Anzulović and the rejection of proposals such as Valdemaras Chomičius or Tomas Pačėsas. The terms of the contract are still to be discussed, but a signature is expected next week. If Poland reaches the tournament and has a good display, Griszczuk could stay for another year.
The 45-year-old is an old acquaintance of Polish basketball, as he has been in the country since 1992, firstly as a player for Anwil Włocławek and then as a coach of the same team and previously of Czarni Słupsk.
