Australia announced the list of players that will play preparation games and the Oceania Championship this year. The calling by Brett Brown tried to include some younger players (such as 17-year-old Hugh Greenwood, the youngest) and others with little international experience. News: New Zealand prepare for Oceania Championship in Europe (Notícia: Nova Zelândia prepara Campeonato da Oceânia na Europa)

The Tall Blacks will play a series of games in Europe before facing Australia in the Oceania Championship in late August. Coach Nenad Vučinić stated this preparation also has in mind the 2010 World Championship, describing the national team as a mix between experienced players and young promising ones, regarded as the future of New Zealander basketball.
The first two games of the tour will be played against Estonia in Tartu on 22nd and 23rd July. Two days later, in Treviso, the opponents will be host Italy, Canada and Portugal. Preparation will end in Belgium (two games in Kortrijk and Antwerp) and Finland (Helsinki) on 30th July and 2nd August, respectively.

(Os "Tall Blacks" disputarão uma série de jogos na Europa antes de defrontarem a Austrália no Campeonato da Oceânia, no fim de Agosto. O seleccionador Nenad Vučinić afirmou que esta preparação tem também em perspectiva o Campeonato do Mundo de 2010, descrevendo a selecção como um misto de jogadores experientes e jovens promissores, vistos como o futuro do basquetebol neo-zelandês.
Os primeiros dois jogos da digressão serão contra a Estónia, em Tartu, nos dias 22 e 23 de Julho. Dois dias depois, em Treviso, os adversários serão a anfitriã Itália, Canadá e Portugal.
