reigning Russian champions CSKA Moscow, Zoran Planinić decided to move to rivals Khimki. The Croatian guard, who signed a contract for two years with another one as option, was no longer attached to CSKA and, therefore, Khimki acquired him for free.
The 27-year-old averaged 7.5 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.1 aasists and 1.1 steals in 21 Euroleague games and 9 points, 3.4 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 27 Superleague games last season.
Among his previous clubs are Cibona, New Jersey Nets and Baskonia.

In one of the most surprising off-season moves in Europe, CSKA Moscow secured the services of Duško Vujošević. The long-serving Partizan Montenegrin head coach will sign a three-year deal with the reigning Russian champions worth five million euros. The news is even more surprising considering CSKA's previous coach Evgeniy Pashutin was only hired last season and built on the successes of Ettore Messina, claiming the domestic title, the Russian Cup and reaching the Euroleague Final Four, where they ended third. Vujošević will count on an budget intended to hire new players.

Following the recent turmoil in Russia's top competition, the Superleague, ten clubs have decided to pull out of the league and start a new one. Among others, the reason behind the breakup is linked with a corruption case surrounding referees and an unsuccessfully rigged playoff game between Dynamo Moscow and Lokomotiv Kuban. In the light of this, CSKA Moscow, Khimki, UNICS Kazan, Dynamo Moscow, Lokomotiv Kuban, Spartak SPb, Triumph Lyubertsy, Samara, Enisey Krasnoyarsk and newly promoted Novgorod made their stand.
CSKA Moscow made sure there were no doubts about which is the strongest team in Russian Superleague. The Reds conquered the title for the eighth time in a row, sweeping the series 3-0 against Khimki and although they missed forward Viktor Khryapa (pictured) in the third game played yesterday, they still convincingly beat the runner-up 60-76. CSKA already led by 13 at halftime and lost only in the third period by one point (19-18).
