Stanislav Eremin is being reported to be in talks with Khimki to replace Italian Sergio Scariolo at the helm of the Russian club. The former Tryumph Lyubertsy and Russia national team head coach was negotiating with 2nd division side Ural Ekaterinburg, but the supposed interest of the PBL giants might have cancelled talks as an outcome is awaited.
Khimki's board has already slammed the rumours and stated they're not in talks with anyone nor intent to replace Scariolo, although the 59-year-old Eremin refused to comment on the issue and provide further details.
Scariolo was hired by the current Russian runner-up two years ago leading them to two consecutive league final appearences where they fell to CSKA Moscow. This season the club holds a two-win and one loss record both in the PBL and the Euroleague and won a game and lost another in the VTB League.
