After stating he would like to leave Russia, Robertas Javtokas has decided to move to Spain and will play for Valencia. The Lithuania national team centre is to sign a two-year deal with the reigning Eurocup champions after he passes medical tests to be performed in the next days. Javtokas will be the third signing of the club for next season after Duško Savanović and Omar Cook and the second Lithuanian ever in their history after Mindaugas Timinskas.
A product of Šiauliai, the 30-year-old spent one year in the United States with the University of Arizona before joining Lietuvos Rytas for six years. He then moved to Panathinaikos, Dynamo Moscow and spent last season with Khimki, where he averaged 10.1 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in the Euroleague.
As Eurocup winners, Valencia earned an automatic spot in the Euroleague next season and Javtokas will be under the orders of newly appointed coach Manolo Hussein.
