News: Đorđević main candidate to Serbian bench

With the recent appointment of Dušan Ivković to lead Olympiacos, the bench of the Serbian national team will have to be filled. The veteran head coach will leave the national side after this year's World Championship and the Serbian federation is already seeking a replacement. The most plausible choice rumoured is Saša Đorđević, a symbol of the country's basketball scene, although with little coaching experience. The 42-year-old is currently jobless and his last coaching post was with Armani Jeans Milano, which he left in 2007. His experience at international level could prove important though, as he claimed gold on three occasions and bronze one time at Eurobasket, won a World Championship and was a silver medalist at the Olympics, being pivotal in almost all the trophies.
Other names on the table for the post are Željko Obradović, Božidar Maljković, Svetislav Pešić, Miroslav Nikolić and Aco Petrović.
