It happened in the past with J.R. Holden, Kelly McCarty and with Becky Hammon in the women's national team and it looks like Jamont Gordon't turn is just around the corner. Recently signed by Russian champions CSKA Moscow for three years, the American guard declared his availability to acquire a Russian passport and if he gets invited to play for the national side he's more than ready to accept what he describes as "a great option". The 23-year-old also says it'd be "a great stimulus" to play an international tournament, namely the Olympics with the Russian jersey.
A product of the Mississippi State University, Gordon has his first professional experience in Italy with Fortitudo Bologna and later moved to play for Croatian powerhouse Cibona. Last season he averaged 13.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.8 steals in 15 Euroleague games.
