News: Nowitzki agrees to remain with Mavericks

One of the biggest question marks of the NBA off-season seems to have been answered as Dirk Nowitzki will keep playing for the Dallas Mavericks. After a brief period of unrestricted free agency, the German forward agreed on a four-year deal possibly worth around 75 million Euros with the team that brought him to the NBA. The news was revealed by his adviser and personal trainer Holger Geschwindner. The contract, which is believed to include a no-trade clause, will be signed next week starting Thursday, the day NBA teams can start announcing and signing players. Improvements to the team are also expected to be made in the next weeks.
Named NBA MVP in 2007, the 32-year-old German is still looking for a championship ring, although he was two wins close of achieving it four years ago. Last season he led the Mavericks averaging 25 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1 block in 81 regular season games. The Mavs fell to the San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the playoffs.
