News: Olympiacos lands Spanoulis

It finally seems that one of the biggest transfers in Europe this summer will go from green to red. Vassilis Spanoulis agreed to leave Greek champions Panathinaikos and move to rivals Olympiacos for the next three seasons with an estimated salary of 2.5 million Euros a year. Criticised by many Panathinaikos' fans due to his impetuous displays, the guard took one of the hardest decisions in his career, but solved one of the biggest problems of the Red team in the backcourt.
In a career that started with Olympia Larissa in 1999, the 27-year-old Greek international wore the jerseys of Maroussi and Panathinaikos, besides having a short stint with the Houston Rockets during the 2006-2007 season. In the Euroleague last season he averaged 10.3 points, 3.6 assists, 1.5 rebounds and 1.1 steals over 14 games.
