News: USA claims U18 Americas title

For the fifth time the USA claimed the gold medal at the U18 Americas Championship. The young Americans defeated Brazil 81-78 in a hard fought game that really could have gone either way. The clutch play of the game came from Quincy Miller, who with 25 seconds left on the clock buried a three-pointer to give USA the lead and the win. The champions led at halftime by just one point (35-34).
Kyrie Irving led the American national team with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists, while Austin Rivers added 19 points, Vander Blue 13 and Miller less two. For the Brazilian side, Lucas Nogueira netted a game-high 22 points to go along with 14 rebounds, followed by Felipe Vezaro with 17 points and Raúl Neto and Gabriel Aguirre with 11 apiece.
Canada downed Argentina 86-83 in overtime to claim the third place.
