News: France takes European U20 crown

This year's U20 European Championship final had the same contenders but the outcome couldn't be more different. France outplayed former champions Greece 62 to 73 and never allowed their victory to be at stake. Although the second half was very balanced, the champions had a previous run of 20-0 and allowed just 6 points in the first period. The French dedicated the gold medal to former teammate Jonathan Bourhis, who died in a car crash last year.
Andrew Albicy (named MVP of the tournament) carried the winners with 20 points and 5 rebounds, while Paul Lacombe added 14 points. For the runner-up, another star of the competition, Nikos Pappas, netted a game-high 22 points, followed by Evangelos Mantzaris with 12 and Kostas Papanikolaou with less two.
