In an unexpected move, the New York Knicks secured the services of Russia national team centre Timofey Mozgov. The 2.16m centre signed a contract for the next three seasons for which he'll earn approximately 7.7 million Euros. For the transfer to be possible, the Knicks had to pay around 395 thousand Euros as a buyout to Khimki, his now previous club. The Knicks reportedly scouted the 23-year-old for the first time last year at Eurobasket, deciding to let him mature one more year in Europe before arranging a transfer.Mozgov played the last three years for Khimki and averaged 6 points and 4.1 rebounds in 16 Euroleague games last season.
