Although being a historical French club, Cholet only managed to get their first title ever last Sunday. The champions convincingly defeated Le Mans 81-65 and succeeded Villeurbanne. The one game final gathered the two best teams in the regular season with Cholet with a slight edge, as they had less one loss.
Antywane Robinson was the best scorer for the champions with 15 points, while Randal Falker added less one, Samuel Mejia 12, six rebounds and seven assists, Mickaël Gelabale 11 points, nine rebounds and five assists (final MVP), Marcellus Sommerville 11 points and John Lineham 10. For Le Mans, Dewarick Spencer topscored the game with 21 points and grabbed five rebounds, followed by João Paulo Batista with 12 points and also five boards, Maleye N'Doye with 11 and Marc Salyers with less one.

News: Gelabale goes back home (Notícia: Gelabale regressa a casa)

Former French international Mickaël Gelabale will return home and that means not only his country but the club that taught to play basketball. Cholet signed the 26-year-old forward until the end of the season and his mission is to cover the absence of Claude Marquis who was loaned to Caserta from Italy. The contract has two clauses that allow him to leave if he wishes to.
The signing marks the return of Gelabale to competition after more than one year of inactivity due to injuries. The fact that the administration and the coach of the club are the same will easen the process of coming back to activity as Gelabale himself acknowledged.
Besides Cholet, Gelabale played in the NBA for the Seattle Supersonics and in Real Madrid.
Cholet is currently fourth in Pro A with 6 wins and 2 losses.

O Cholet contratou o extremo de 26 anos até ao fim da temporada e a sua missão será a de colmatar a saída de Claude Marquis por empréstimo para o Caserta, de Itália. O contrato possui duas cláusulas que permitem que o jogador abandone o clube se assim entender.
A contratação assinala o regresso de Gelabale à competição, depois de mais de um ano de inactividade devido a lesões. O facto de a direcção e o treinador do clube serem os mesmos irá facilitar o regresso ao activo, como o próprio Gelabale reconheceu.
Para além do Cholet, Gelabale jogou na NBA pelos Seattle Supersonics e no Real Madrid.
O Cholet é actualmente quarto na Pro A com 6 vitórias e 2 derrotas.)
