Seven years after their last French title, Villeurbanne conquered the most important Pro A trophy of the season on Sunday. In the final the green team defeated Orléans 55-41, claiming their 18th championship title. In a dismal and low scoring game, the win was secured right in the second period, as Villeurbanne outscored the runner-up 19 to 0 at some point, allowing only 4 points. Amara Sy led the champions with 10 points and 8 rebounds, followed the triunvirate Ali Traoré (8 boards), Nebojša Bogavac and Eric Campbell (5 rebounds) with 8 points each.
