The Bulgaria national team coach Pini Gershon selected 18 players to start preparations for Eurobasket 2009. Eight players will gather on 15th July, while the remaining ones, incluing captain Todor Stoykov, will join five days later. U20 players Bozhidar Avramov and Aleksandar Yanev will be under the orders of the Israeli only in the beginning of August.
The Bulgarians are in group D of the tournament, along with Lithuania, Turkey and host Poland.

Haverá uma primeira concentração com oito jogadores no dia 15 de Julho, aos quais os restantes, incluindo o capitão Todor Stoykov, se juntarão cinco dias depois. Os jogadores sub-20 Bozhidar Avramov e Aleksandar Yanev estarão sob as ordens do israelita no início de Agosto.
