Given Ettore Messina's uncertain future, amid offers from other clubs namely Real Madrid, CSKA Moscow decided to hire a new headcoach: Evgeniy Pashutin. The former CSKA and Russia national team player comes from Spartak St. Petersburg, which was the Superleague's surprise this year by reaching the playoff semi-finals. Before leading Spartak, Pashutin had worked as an assistant coach also to Messina and will now lead a different project from that developed by the Italian during four years, as there will be a budget reduction and more investment in Russian players (two thirds of the whole team).The 40-year-old Pashutin described the opportunity of coaching the Russian champion as of "great joy" and "great responsability".
(Dada a incerteza em relação ao futuro de Ettore Messina, que tem já ofertas de vários clubes, nomeadamente do Real Madrid, o CSKA de Moscovo decidiu contratar um novo técnico: Evgueniy Pashutin. O antigo jogador do CSKA e da selecção russa provém do Spartak S. Petersburgo, que constituiu a surpresa da Superliga este ano ao atingir as meias-finais dos "playoffs". Antes de orientar o Spartak, Pashutin tinha trabalhado como treinador auxiliar, também de Messina, e irá agora assumir a liderança de um projecto diferente daquele desenvolvido pelo italiano durante quatro anos, já que haverá uma redução no orçamento e um maior investimento em jogadores russos (serão dois terços de toda a equipa).
