For the third time in a row, Argentina won the South American U17 Championship by beating Uruguay 63-50 in the final yesterday. The run to the title was especially made in the beginning of the third period, as Argentina scored 11 points and allowed only 2. Juan José Giaveno was the best scorer for the champions with 17 points, followed by Carlos Paredes with 10 and Patricio Gullota (7 rebounds) and Ezequiel Díaz had 8 apiece. For the Uruguayans, Diego García Salort scored 18 points, while Mathías Calfani added 10.
Brazil grabbed the bronze medal by beating Venezuela 107 to 62 and earned a spot in the U18 Americas Championship.
