Lithuania national team forward Linas Kleiza will be heading back to the NBA. After signing with Olympiacos last season, the 25-year-old was acquired for the next four years by the Toronto Raptors. The Canadian team offered a salary of approximately 14.5 million Euros which was not matched by the team that owned his rights and took him to the NBA, the Denver Nuggets. Kleiza is intended to compensate the departure of Turkish Hedo Türkoğlu to the Phoenix Suns and is described by the Raptors president Brian Colangelo as a "tough-minded, hard-nosed forward" with a "unique inside/outside game".
Named the best Lithuanian player last year, Kleiza was the Euroleague's top scorer with an average of 17.1 points, adding 6.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists over 22 games. He helped Olympiacos get to the Euroleague and Greek league finals, while conquering the Greek Cup.
