The 12-season former NBA player who retired last year could be preparing his return to competition. The 35-year-old player was offered an opportunity to play in the NBA's D-League and if everything goes as planned Harrington could make a comeback in the NBA. Since he last played with the Charlotte Bobcats last season, Harrington had offers from China and Europe, but his goal was to prove he could still play in the NBA, and the Los Angeles Defenders gave him an opportunity. Harrington already played three games with the team, averaging 2.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 14 minutes of play, as he tries to recover shape one year and a half later. If the plan does not succeeed, Harrington already has plans: he would like to become a D-League coach.
In his NBA career, the 2.06m power forward averaged 7.4 points and 4.4 rebounds, playing for the Houston Rockets, Vancouver Grizzlies (with which he had his best season during the 1999-2000 period), New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls and Charlotte Bobcats.
