The hopes that NBA player Kelenna Azubuike could play for Great Britain in Eurobasket have vanished. Born in London of Nigerian roots, the Golden State Warriors guard/forward was trying to get a British passport, but the request was refused. The main reasons are linked to his parents status in the country when he was born and the fact that he left still a baby without the situation solved. Azubuike now feels disheartened about his chances to play for Britain, but even so the 25-year-old still hopes to be at the London Olympics in 2012.The British federation is trying to solve the issue and speed up the process in an attempt to have the player in the national team as soon as possible. Azubuike had a breakout season with the Warriors, averaging 14.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 74 games.
