News: Kazan and Partizan win Cups in Russia and Serbia (Notícia: Kazan e Partizan vencem Taças da Rússia e Sérvia)

The 2009 Russian Cup was conquered yesterday by UNICS Kazan after they defeated Dynamo Moscow in the final by a stunning 81-60. This is the second time Kazan gets the trophy after the 2003 win. Krešimir Lončar led the winners with 20 points and was later named Cup MVP, followed by Terrell Lyday with 17 and Petr Samoylenko with 8 points and 10 assists. Best players for Dynamo were Sergey Bykov, who collected 15 points, and Darjuš Lavrinovič with 12 points and 7 rebounds.
CSKA Moscow managed to grab the third place by beating Triumph Lyubertsy 69-75 with a quality performance by Ramūnas Šiškauskas with 24 points.

In Serbia Partizan claimed yesterday their second Radivoj Korać Cup title (named after the legendary Serbian player) in a row by beating archrivals Crvena Zvezda 80 to 65. That makes it 10 titles for Partizan which previously overcame FMP Zeleznik and Vojvodina with little difficulty to reach the final. The best player for the current Serbian champions was the final MVP Novica Veličković with 18 points, closely followed by Uroš Tripković with less one. Tadija Dragićević was the highscorer for the runner-ups with 14 points.
In Croatia Cibona conquered their 15th Krešimir Ćosić Cup title defeating Zagreb 73-63.

Trata-se da segunda vez que o Kazan arrecada o troféu após a vitória em 2003. Krešimir Lončar liderou os vencedores com 20 pontos, sendo mais tarde designado MVP da Taça, seguido por Terrell Lyday com 17 e Petr Samoylenko com 8 pontos e 10 assistências. Os melhores jogadores do Dínamo foram Sergey Bykov, que colheu 15 points, e Darjuš Lavrinovič com 12 pontos e 7 ressaltos.
O CSKA Moscovo conseguiu a terceira posição ao bater o Triumph Lyubertsy por 69-75 com uma exibição de qualidade de Ramūnas Šiškauskas com 24 pontos.
Na Sérvia, o Partizan triunfou ontem pela segunda vez consecutiva na final da Taça Radivoj Korać (assim designada em homenagem ao lendário jogador sérvio), ao vencer o rival Crvena Zvezda por 80-65. Desta forma, o Partizan passa a contar com 10 títulos, tendo batido anteriormente o FMP Železnik e o Vojvodina com pouca dificuldade no percurso até à final. O melhor jogador dos actuais campeões sérvios foi o MVP da final Novica Veličković com 18 points, seguido de perto por Uroš Tripković com menos um. Tadija Dragićević foi o melhor marcador do segundo classificado com 14 pontos.
