Spartak St. Petersburg have already found a new coach to guide the team for the remainder of the season. The chosen coach was Israeli Zvi Sherf after the stepping down of Aleksandar Trifunović due to disagreements with the club's board.With an extensive carrer, the renowned 57-year-old started his head coaching days with Maccabi Tel Aviv in 1983 and coach Hapoel Jerusalem, Aris, Hapoel Tel Aviv, Limoges, PAOK, Śląsk Wrocław and Dynamo Moscow, among others, besides coaching Israel on several occasions. As for titles, he won ten championships and six Israeli cups, one Saporta Cup and had three Euroleague final appearances with Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Detentor de um extenso currículo, o reputado técnico de 57 anos iniciou a carreira no Maccabi Telavive em 1983 e orientou Hapoel Jerusalem, Aris, Hapoel Telavive, Limoges, PAOK, Śląsk Wrocław e Dínamo de Moscovo, entre outros, para além de ter comandado a selecção israelita em várias ocasiões. A nível de títulos, venceu dez campeonatos e seis taças de Israel, uma Taça Saporta e levou por três vezes o Maccabi Telavive à final da Euroliga.)
