News: Another Serb may lead Iran national team (Notícia: Outro sérvio poderá orientar selecção iraniana)

Veselin Matić is the new name presented by the Iranian federation to take the helm of the national team. The Serbian will be in Tehran today to discuss conditions and it's very likely that he'll take the job. The Iranian national team has been without a coach since another Serbian, Rajko Toroman, left later last year to manage the Philippines national team project.
If the deal goes through, Matić will have the hard task of defending the current Iran status of champion at the Asia Championship in August in China.
The 49-year-old already has experience coaching national teams, as he was Yugoslavia's assistant coach in the beginning of the decade and led Poland between 2005 and 2006. His last job as coach was in Lebanon with Sagesse.

O sérvio estará hoje em Teerão para discutir condições e é muito provável que venha a aceitar o cargo. A selecção iraniana encontra-se sem seleccionador desde que outro sérvio, Rajko Toroman, abandonou a selecção no fim do ano passado para gerir o projecto da selecção das Filipinas.
Se as negociações forem bem sucedidas, Matić terá pela frente a árdua tarefa de defender o título de campeão do Irão no Campeonato da Ásia, a ter lugar em Agosto, na China.
O treinador de 49 anos possui já experiência ao nível de selecções, tendo sido adjunto da selecção jugoslava no início da década e seleccionador da Polónia entre 2005 e 2006. O seu último cargo como treinador foi no Líbano, ao serviço do Sagesse.)
