The Ricky Rubio soap opera finally had its end with an agreement achieved between the 18-year-old, Joventut and his new club Barcelona. Picked by the Minnesota Timberwolves at no. 5 in the NBA draft, the guard snubbed the move to the United States and signed a six-year deal with the Spanish champions, although he could leave after the second season if the ammount of the release clause (5.7 million euros) is paid. Barcelona paid 3.5 million euros for Rubio, the highest ever in ACB, ahead of Milan Gurović's 3 million in 1998 from Peristeri also to the Catalans.With this transfer the starlet will keep playing in Euroleague, as Joventut will play in Eurocup.

Escolhido na quinta posição no draft da NBA pelos Minnesota Timberwolves, o base adiou a transferência para os Estados Unidos e assinou um contrato de seis anos com o campeão espanhol, embora possa abandonar o clube após a segunda época se for pago o valor da cláusula de rescisão (5,7 milhões de euros). O Barcelona pagou 3,5 millhões de euros por Rubio, a quantia mais alta de sempre na ACB, à frente dos 3 milhões por Milan Gurović em 1998 do Peristeri também para os catalães.
