News: Egypt becomes U16 African champion (Notícia: Egipto campeão africano sub-16)

Egypt became the first U16 African champion on Saturday by beating Mali in the final. The first edition of the tournament placed in Mozambique saw the Egyptians narrowly win 84 to 82, after another difficult victory in the semi-finals against Nigeria, which grabbed the bronze medal with 65-56 win against Algeria.
With this result Egypt will represent Africa in the first edition of the U17 World Championship next year in Germany and hopes to regain a relevant spot in the African scene in the years to come as it happened not so long ago.

A primeira edição do torneio, realizado em Moçambique, viu os egípcios alcançarem uma vitória complicada por 84-82, depois de outro jogo difícil nas meias-finais frente à Nigéria, selecção que obteve a medalha de bronze ao bater o Argélia por 65-56.
Com este resultado, o Egipto irá representar o continente africano na primeira edição do Campeonato do Mundo Sub-17 do próximo ano, na Alemanha, e tentará futuramente reconquistar um lugar de relevo no panorama africano.)
