News: Baskonia keeps Barać longer

Known in the last couple of years for its short-term signings, this time Caja Laboral Baskonia decided to keep one of its most important inside players longer. Croatian centre Stanko Barać re-signed a deal for the next three seasons, although he still had one year remaining in his contract. With this move, Baskonia will therefore keep the 24-year-old until 2015, who arrive to the Spanish club in 2007.
Upset by injuries last season, the Croatia international averaged 5.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists in the Euroleague, while this season he's averaging 14.5 points and 7 rebounds in the two games played so far.
A product of Bosnian outfit Široki, the Croatia international later moved to Spain, where he also played for Valencia on loan. He was selected by the Miami Heat in the 2007 NBA Draft, but his rights now belong to the Indiana Pacers.
